Our school, St. James’ Catholic Primary, recently came alive with the vibrant energy of a community gathering like no other— Little SHARES, in partnership with SHARES Lancashire.
This heartwarming event brought together children and caregivers of all ages, from tiny tots as young as 2 months old to spirited parents and carers, creating a joyful celebration of parenthood in a supportive environment.
At the heart of Little SHARES is the belief that parenthood is a shared journey, meant to be fully experienced with our little companions. This isn't your average preschool toddler group; it's an enriching, informative experience, aimed at minimising stress for both children and caregivers.
Our sessions are carefully put together to encourage meaningful connections between carers and toddlers through a variety of engaging and interactive activities. From arts and crafts to imaginative play, families are invited to engage in an atmosphere that promotes the creation of lasting memories.
But Little SHARES goes beyond just playtime. We acknowledge the importance of addressing essential topics essential to a child's well-being, such as toilet training and maintaining optimal oral hygiene. Practical sessions support a gentle, child-centric approach, while also guiding families through the significance of establishing regulated sleep patterns and bedtime routines beneficial to a restful night's sleep for all.
Recognising the importance of boundaries for both children and parents, Little SHARES provides invaluable guidance on setting age-appropriate limits that improve independence and a sense of security. It's not just a toddler group; it's a supportive community that celebrates the wonders of parenthood while equipping families with the tools and knowledge for the journey ahead.

It's an opportunity to meet other parents and grandparents. A free brew and free nappies are on offer.
Most of our regulars come on their own - everyone is friendly.
LittleSHARES will be on hand to give advice on toilet training, sleep patterns and advice for behaviour issues.
