History

Autumn 2- Old Skelmersdale

We went on a coach trip all around Old Skelmersdale. We looked at the War Memorial that was built 100 years ago to commemorate those who fought in the World War from Skelmersdale. We recognised that a Town Hall used to be here. We also looked at Sandy Lane shops, the Knowl Brow, the Railway Tavern and some Victorian terraced houses!

Autumn 1- Victorians

To celebrate our learning in history this term, we had a Victorian day. We all dressed up as Victorians and carried out a range of different activities such as Victorian washing, baking scones, making homemade lemonade, lessons with a chalk board / quill and ink and making dolly pegs! We also had a visit from Skelmersdale Heritage Society where we learnt lots more about Skelmersdale in the Victorians as well as handling a range of artefacts.
