Expressive Arts & Design

Reception 2023-24

Autumn term 2023

We then created a larger scale print, using our colour mixing skills and print making knowledge to create a spooky pumpkin picture.

Using our knowledge of mixing secondary colours, we mixed orange and green and used leaves to create small scale prints.

We have learnt about primary and secondary colours, creating our own colour wheels.

Reception 2022-23

Spring 2023

We learnt about Arctic animals and then used our cutting and sticking skills to creat our own Arctic foxes.

We learnt about the Aurora Borealis and used watercolours to paint this. We used our knowledge of colour mixing to mix the colours we wanted as we painted.

Autumn term 2022

We used stencils and sponges to create Halloween themed art work.

We painted autumn leaves that we gathered on our walk, we then used these for print making.

We have been exploring different mediums in art such as watercolour, wax resistant painting and collage.

Reception 2021-22

Spring Term 2022

We have been using a range of materials to create Superhero accessories that express our ideas and feelings.

We love getting creative, sharing our ideas, resources and skills with each other.

Autumn Term 2021

We had a fun Christmas themed session with Lorna from Jiggly Wrigglers, dancing and singing to lots of songs.

We learnt how to play Jingle Bells on the Boomwhackers

We got creative when learning about Remembrance Day.

We have been exploring colour mixing.

After our visit from Penny the British Bulldog, the children asked if they could make a dog to take home. The used the equipment in our creative area. I’m sure you’ll agree they look fab. Super cutting and sticking as well.

We love our music lessons with Mr Cairns. We do lots of singing.

We love to get creative. Just look what we have made...

Building all sorts...dens for our animals, beds for our dolls and the highest tower to name but a few.

We tried the boomwhackers today for the first time...they were so much fun!
