The Water Cycle- Spring Term 2022
Local Fieldwork study - The River Tawd - Spring Term 2022
Year 4 have had a wonderful time on their local fieldwork study to the Tawd Valley Park. They planned their journey and used ordinance survey maps and four figure grid references to arrive at their destination. They then measured the flow of the river, completed fieldworks sketches and investigated the use of the land surrounding the river. They are all skilled and enthusiastic geographers!
Mapping skills - Autumn Term 2021
Year 4 completed a mapping skills lesson. The children studied a variety of Ordinance Survey maps and can now use four figure grid references to locate a range of human and physical features in Ashurst and the surrounding area.
We will develop this further by looking at ordinance survey symbols and local route planning.
I have a class full of talented geographers!
Our real life links to the Amazon Rainforest
Year 4 were very excited during Geography this week. Mrs Bell has made links with a man called Ryan who actually lives in the Amazon rainforest!
He is passionate about deforestation and answered all of our questions. We will continue to send Ryan questions throughout our topic. It has really helped to spark our interest in the continent and we are so excited to learn more. ❤️🌍😊
