Islam - we made Eid biscuits when learning about Ramadan and Eid.

Jesus’ ascension to heaven - the children drew pictures of what they believe heaven to be like.

Spring 2024

Autumn 2023

Today we learned about the tradition of making Christingles in Christian churches. We learned about the symbolism of the Christingle and discussed the meaning of Jesus being ‘the light of the world.’

Live: Today we learned about the traditions of advent. We learned that it is a time of preparation for the birth of Jesus at Christmas. We thought of ways that we can be kind to others and made a whole class advent calendar containing acts of kindness to complete each day of advent.

Hear: Today we read Luke 2: 4-7 and learned that Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem. The children enjoyed re-enacting the scene in costume.

Today we learned about the Hindu celebration of Diwali. The children made their own Diya lamps out of clay and we tasted traditional Hindu celebration foods.

Autumn 1 2023

After hearing the story of God creating the world, the children drew pictures of what they would like to thank God for.

We looked into a special mirror which revealed who God loves. We discovered that God loves us all.

Live: we thought of the ways we can care for God’s world and everything in it.
