Fieldwork skills at the Tawd 2019
Last year, Year 6 visited the Tawd to practise their fieldwork skills. They learnt how to use 6 figure grid references to take part in a treasure hunt. They also discussed human and physical features within our local area and talked about how humans can impact the environment. Following this the children learnt about the water cycle and rivers. They had to act out 2 rivers meeting, which they learnt was called a confluence, and also learnt about tributaries and meanders. In addition, the children learnt how to use the 8 points on a compass, including reading the compass bearing.
