Spring 2 Stop motion

19th century animation

The children looked at animation from the 19th century and made their own flip book. Making sure the animation altered only slightly so that the animation was smooth and consistent.

Using the stop motion app, the pupils practised creating their own simple film and used onion skimming to ensure the movement created a coherent moving work.

Storyboard

Working in groups, the children planned and made a storyboard for the alien film they will make as their final piece.

Once the films had been made the groups edited and evaluated their work. They thought about what had gone as planned and how they would improve it in future.
