Welcome from mental health and pastoral lead - Mrs Allan

Pastoral and Mental Health Lead Statement – St. James'
At St. James'. We believe that mental health and well-being are fundamental for your child’s ability to grow, thrive, and succeed — both personally and academically. All children need to feel safe, loved, and valued in order to truly flourish. These are the foundations for developing self-esteem, emotional resilience, and a strong, positive sense of identity.
Our pastoral care is inclusive, compassionate, and fully embedded in the daily life of our school. We are committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels supported and empowered. Through a whole-school approach, we equip children with the strategies and emotional tools they need to manage life’s challenges, build healthy relationships, and reach their full potential.
We work in close partnership with staff, families, and external professionals to ensure your child’s well-being is a shared priority — because when children feel emotionally secure, they are ready to engage, learn, and grow.
The door is always open, please feel free to arrange a meeting or well-being clinic if you have any concerns about your child.
